Half Life 2 has Lipsync why shouldnt we
*Offtopic but...
How does half life 2 have such good lip sync and we have closed mouth ingame movies :/
They could just make lipsync for english, since other languages have WAYYY more complex lip sync

you overestimate the localisation abilities of the developers.
they can not even translate the skill descriptiond porperly.

But can you program something to lipsync in English, Korean, French, German, etc.? And all at the same time? Now that would be impressive.

HL2 is a singleplayer FPS. This means that there's only 1 person that the computer needs to render everything for (If you look hard, HL2's textures are less detailed in multiplayer). That means that graphics in HL2 (and any FPS pretty much) can be much higher quality than other games (ie. the physics system).

Why not just make the mouth's or jaws move up and down. I really really really don't care if it matches up. It's like watching anime and noone's mouth is moving. It's just creepy. A lot of anime when dubbed the words don't match up but its just better that at least their mouths move.

thats why subbed > dubbed, if the voices dont semi match the mouth moving it actually subtracts from the expirience.
